Retired: Do I Still Need a SMSF?

THE SITUATION

Jack and Maree are in their late 70’s and had their own SMSF with a combined balance of $1 million. The funds were invested in a balanced managed fund. They had always been told a SMSF was best for them but they didn’t understand why, and found the annual process and cost not something they wanted to deal with.

THE SOLUTION

We rolled over their superannuation funds from their SMSF to a Retail Superannuation fund with an appropriate risk profile.

We then set up the pension levels.

THE OUTCOME

Jack and Maree were so relieved. it was one administration task they didn’t want to have to deal with anymore.
